The Pain Mechanisms and Therapeutics Conference is a conference focused on pain mechanisms and therapeutic approaches. It will feature presentations and discussions on the latest research and advancements in the field of pain management. Arrival at Verona airport (VRN) is the best choice, and direct flights to Verona leave from London Gatwick, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Munich, and Paris.

It is often possible to get an inexpensive ticket to London, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, or Amsterdam, and then to buy a separate ticket to Verona. Buying one ticket with a Verona connecting flight is often difficult or expensive.

​If you arrive at Milan Malpensa, take the Malpensa Express train from the airport to Milano Centrale, and then take the next train to Verona Porta Nuova train station. It’s as fast as 2 hours 14 minutes total with the fast trains. From Verona Porta Nuova train station, take a taxi to your hotel.

From Venice Airport, you would take a taxi or bus to the train station (Venezia Mestre) and then take the next train to Verona Porta Nuova station (as fast as 55 minutes). From Verona Porta Nuova train station, take a taxi to your hotel.

Rome to Verona by train is as little as 3 hours and 18 minutes. If you arrive in Rome Fiumicino Airport, take the Leonardo Express train inside the airport to Roma Termini and then take the train to Verona Porta Nuova train station.

​The venue is the Hotel Due Torri, which is in the car-restricted city center. Only taxis and residents can drive in the Verona city center. Trust us…. just walk out of the arrivals hall at Verona Airport or at the train station and take a taxi directly to your hotel, a 15-20 minute ride. It is a mistake to rent a car and try to park it in Verona. You can also take a bus from the airport to the train station and then a bus or taxi to the city center, but it is a longer trip.

The main train station (Verona Porta Nuova) is outside the Verona city center and 3.4km from the venue. Buses just outside the train station entrance will go close to your hotel.

Remember that if you buy a train ticket to anywhere, you need to invalidate it by inserting it into a time-stamping machine near the train platform before you get on the train. If you forget, you can get a significant penalty when the train conductor asks for your ticket because the unstamped ticket retains its value, and not stamping it (invalidating it), is regarded as theft of service. It’s the same on buses. You can buy bus tickets at any tabacchi or on the bus. After you get on the bus you need to stamp the ticket in the machine on the bus. 

If  you drive to Verona, there are car parks around the city and your hotel can advise you.

If you plan to visit nearby Mantova, Vicenza, Padova, Venice, Lake Garda, Bolzano, Bologna, Florence, or Milan, trains are inexpensive and the best way to travel, generally speaking. We know the area well and we can answer any questions you might have.
